Julie is an Urban Planner with post graduate qualifications in Land Economy. She is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia, a Certified Practicing Planner, a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Julie is the founding Director, former CEO and Chairman of JBA Urban Planning Consultants Pty Ltd.

Julie has sat on several property industry and Government Committees dealing with urban planning/property development issues. She is currently a member of the Heritage Council of NSW and President of the Planning Institute of Australia (NSW Division). She has been a guest lecturer at Sydney University and the UTS; member of the NSW Executive and Chair of the Planning Committee of the Property Council of Australia (NSW), member of the NSW Premier's Urban Design Advisory Committee, and member of the Lord Mayors Development Advisory Committee.

Working for over 25 years as a private consultant in New South Wales, Julie has a considerable range and depth of experience in most urban planning matters and has appeared on many occasions as an expert witness in the Land & Environment Court and before Commissions of Inquiry. She has also sat on Ministerial advisory and design competition panels.

Julie was awarded the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Business Woman of the Year in 2003, and sits on the advisory Board of Foresite.com.au Pty Ltd.
