Gordon joined JBA in January 2007 and was appointed Partner
in April 2008. He is a graduate in Economics and holds a Diploma
in Urban and Regional Planning both from the University of Sydney.
During his time at JBA, Gordon has been responsible
for the coordination and preparation of applications for a range
of Major Projects and State Significant Sites in both urban and
greenfield environments. Gordon gains immense professional satisfaction
from guiding complex development proposals through the planning
and assessment process, and providing clients with practical and
creative solutions to planning issues.
Prior to joining JBA, Gordon was a Director at
the Department of Planning with responsibility for the assessment
of State significant sites, major health and education projects
and planning for the alpine resorts region. Gordon has brought to
JBA considerable experience in all aspects of planning, environmental
impact assessment and associated legislation.
While with the Department of Planning, Gordon
played a significant role in the formulation and implementation
of Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
and Schedule 3 of the Major Projects SEPP relating to State Significant
Sites. He is one of the State’s leading experts on the application
of the legislation to development on major sites.
