| In 2007, approval
was granted for a Stage 1 development application
prepared by JBA for the redevelopment of Top Ryde
Shopping Centre. The redevelopment includes approximately
130,000m² of
floor space within the shopping centre, comprising
a mix of shops, cafes, restaurants, gym, civic
centre, cinemas, child care facilities and a public
place of worship, along with extensive public
domain improvements. The application also included
concept approval for 450 residential apartments
and 10,000m²
of commercial development above the podium, which
will be the subject of a Stage 2 development application.
The redeveloped Top Ryde Shopping Centre will
contribute to the revitalisation of the Ryde Town
Centre.
